World War Two History-Memorial tours programmes
World War Two History-Memorial tours are run by Libby Babbage together with her husband John and son Paul. Their fascination with the Second World War in Eastern Europe originated with Libby’s family history. Raised in the former Czechoslovakia, Libby’s early understanding of World War II was shaped by the communist state. Since moving to Britain 46 years ago she has explored western perspectives and now has a rich understanding of the complex tapestry of conflict in Eastern Europe. Her father Josef Cetl was a member of the Czech communist underground and a survivor of both the Terezin and Buchenwald concentration camps. It is this personal history that has been a driving force in the creation of our World War II tours and Libby personally leads many of our tour groups. Find out more about our special World War II tour of the Czech Republic and Germany, featuring Prague, Lidice, Terezin & Buchenwald concentration camps, Colditz Castle and Dresden and also Poland.
